“My husband and I stayed here last night and thought the place was adorable and a great value. We're glad we ignored some of the negative reviews and tried it out. We were lucky to stay on a night where the ocean view penthouse was free and they gave us an upgrade. We LOVED the room with its vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors, modern furniture and colorful, clean palette *ocean greens, blues and white," Lots of windows and a fantastic view from the balcony. It's over 100 years old and has a lot of history. They have a fun bakery and cafe which seems popular with the locals. I peaked into one of the ocean view Kings below and they were very nice. As for the negative reviews, I want to say that I work in the travel industry and have a couple of observations: 1) the hotel is in the process of updating the other rooms to mirror the penthouse - just awaiting permits from several commissions; they will however, restore two of the rooms in a Victorian fashion; 2) if you're expecting to have Rit“

“My husband and I stayed here last night and were kindly upgraded to the penthouse ocean view room. It was adorable and a great value. I saw some of the negative reviews and am glad we went with our instincts and came anyway. It's important to note that this place has great history and their in the process of renovating the place. When you have an historic property you have to gain approvals from several commissions. Also this is a B&B with a great ocean view bakery/cafe that's also good for lunch. For those negative nellies looking for five star service and accommodations for $135 a night please get a reality check. This place has charming personality and a great view for the money. We will be back!“

“I've stayed at the Ocean View Inn many times and I love it. The rooms are all huge and the penthouse is absolutely fabulous. The place is very old, very romantic and a little funky, but I love funky. It was built around the turn of the century and is an old Victorian roadhouse, and I heard from the locals that the old roadhouses were all speakeasies where lots of illegal activities went on during prohibition, so I think its an old brothel. This place has history, a fabulous ambiance, stained glass windows in some of the rooms (ask to see them). It's a unique and wonderful place, but its not the Sheraton and the price is right. For me there is no comparison. This is my kind of place. Debbie the owner is soo welcoming. If you stay here, make sure you go to the Moss Beach Distillery for great live music and great food, you can bring your dog. Also, check out the Bach Dynamite and Dancing Society in Moss Beach, a walk from the Ocean View Inn, the best straight up jazz in the Bay Area. Caro“
